Care After-good choice, but not for special needs kids! 3/27/2006

Care After probably operates the after-school daycare in the elementary school your child attends. Their caregivers seem very warm and friendly, and take security seriously. They have a good reputation at our elementary school. All the children are lumped in together, and they get to play with their school friends, which is really nice. No need to worry about transportation, they just walk down the hall! They are a separate entity, and not part of the district's programs. They are not specially trained to handle special-needs or high-needs kids, no matter how they represent their staff...they mean well, but they are not equipped. Reasonably priced, for about 200 a month per child, they are worth the money. The only drawback we can see is that you must have back-up childcare in place for vacations, holidays, and summer. With the amount you save in after-school care, summer care is more affordable. more
