For BBQ with home cooked flavor, I love Dewaynes.
The servings are very large, and the food is good. They also have other items available if you are not a BBQ fan, and also have a breakfast menu.
The staff is very friendly, and I have always received good service. The restaurant is clean, but the smoking and non-smoking areas are in the same room. So you may still get some smoke drifting into your area, if you are close to the smoking side.
The restaurant is usually packed with limited seating so try to plan accordingly.
Usually the busiest times are after Church on Sundays and the evening dinner hour around 6 PM.
I like the BBQ pulled pork dinner the best.
