We hired Mr. Bee for bee hive removal in April of 2010.

Ed Bacardi is the owner. I wouldn’t recommend him. He charged us $5500 for what he claims as eleven hours worth of work. The bee hive is still on our exterior wall. We called the local police and animal control to get rid of the bees. Animal control people said that they didn’t do bee removal and I asked them as to who does so they gave us this gentleman’s company name and number. We then called Mr. Bee and it took him about ten days and multiple calls to get him to come out. We also tried some other people, but the others didn’t really appeal to us. After ten days, the guy from Mr. Bee came out and brought us fruits the very first time. He was chatting a lot. He was smoking the bees and he said that it was the most effective way to do it. We learned quite a bit about bee removal in the last seven or eight months and we know the method he used was more stressful for the bees. He quoted me a rate on the phone; he told me that he would charge $160 to come out and $160 an hour. The first bill we got was $4200 for what he claims as eleven hours worth of work. He was charging us a fee for after hours. He also told us that he was there one day for four hours, which was in the dark and we know that he was only there in the dark once. He never scheduled and he just showed up. I was never given a fee sheet, but he gave one to my husband when he signed for the work. He actually didn’t give it to my husband until he gave him the permission for the bee hive removal. We are trying to straighten it out now since we got the bill. He told us never to call him again so we didn’t and we didn’t hear from him again for six months. He then sent us the bill which also included interest and an additional fee. We wrote him a letter and tried to pay him again. He sent us back a three-page letter accusing me of all kinds of things. It has been very upsetting and harassing. We now don’t know what to pay him. He also charged us another $170 to write us the letter.
