I travelled to Dallas for business, and found recommendations for Standard Restaurant on chowhound.com. While my reservation was the last one for the evening, and I was going to be the last person in the restaurant, the staff was friendly and highly attentive to my needs, without ever making me feel rushed. As a single diner, I was seated at a edge booth where I could look out on the entire room - great people watching! The food (I went on a Sunday, so it was the Sunday Supper menu - comfort food) was fantastic. The green salad had a delicious dressing with hints of star anise, the beef short ribs were meltingly tender and warm apple pie was delicious with the mint whipped cream on the side. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. I would highly recommend!
