When I first got Ace, my dog, he got horrible stomach sickness. Since he hadn't completed all his parvo shots, I rushed him to the Animal Emergency Clinic on Sunday morning. I was expecting a huge bill, only to be pleasantly surprised by $70 for a parvo test (negative!) and prescription dog diet food. My cat had an abcess on her foot from a cat fight when she lived outside. I rushed her to the emergency clinic they took an x-ray and gave us antibiotics and were very prompt and thorough. I've never had to wait, or felt like I was silly for coming in on the weekends. They are very understanding and calm, which is great in an emergency.
