Right in the middle of Old Forge you will find a cute, mom n pop diner called Walt's Diner. They are open year round which isn't common in this tourist town. Many of the places close down since the cold weather chases many away but the locals.
We stopped in for lunch and were surprised by the down home charm of the place. Service was great with younger people running the bar area and cooking. Not sure if this is family owned but that was the feel of the feel of the place.
The service was quick and friendly and VERY reasonable prices. Diner is clean including the restrooms.
Ordered Chicken Cordeon Blue Sandwiches that came with fries, pickles, may, tomaot and lettuce. The fries were made fresh, as in they were fresh cut fries prior to them being fried. They were the best I had in awhile.
We will definitely be a place we will return to when in Old Forge.
