My daughter and I who are both on strict budgets and needed haircuts. We called around to five different salons today and chose the salon with the lowest price. Since we both have long hair and only need a simple trim we weren't too picky about the salons skill. We both got a shampoo and a simple trim. I probably only had about a 1/4 inch taken off of my hair. We were quoted over the phone $12.00 for the cut and $3.00 for the shampoo. So we figured $15.00 each and another $2.00 each for a tip. The operator was nice and did her job. When it came time to pay the owner said that will be $20.00 for me and $25.00 for her. I told him what I was quoted by the receptionist and his response was, "thats why I tell my receptionist not to give quotes over the phone." "They never know what to charge." Well when I called I specifically told the girl that I wanted a price for cutting LONG hair because I know that they typically charge more for it. I don't understand why considering it really is LESS work just to do a trim. Anyway he said that she quoted the wrong prices to me. That totally pissed me off considering I went to their salon because of the quote I got. I will never go there again. And he should have honored the price quoted. Usually prices in such cheap salons are posted anyways. With the extra $11.00 that I paid I could have gotten my other daughter a cut too had I gone somewhere else. The job was satisfactory but their policy stunk!
