Who would have thought that paying a restaurant for food that you would have to cook yourself would be as delightful as it was? Shabu shabu --Japanese for 'swish swish'-- at Koji's is Japanese American dining at its finest. What you will order is a plate of thinly sliced pieces of meat, poultry, or seafood and mixed vegetables. When the food arrives raw, you cook it in your own personal hot pot. It is a great way to eat healthy, much like sushi, because you are actually eating less while feeling like you are eating more. The accompanying sauces are tasteful complements to the otherwise unseasoned and unmarinated meat.
Located right in the heart of the Hollywood and Highland center (and also at the Block in Orange), this restaurant is swanky, fun, and a great date location. Overall, I give it to thumbs up and a high five.
