Empire Szechuan is the restaurant where I first learned to love sushi. My husband and I could go and stuff ourselves on delicious hand rolls for less than $25 total! The service is quick and capable, but not overly chummy. The Hot and Sour soup is great, as are many of the Chinese dishes on the menu. The restrooms are located at the bottom of a oddly pink-painted stairwell. Returning to the table from washing one's hands is reminiscent of emerging from the birth canal. Despite this oddity, I love this restaurant and try to go every time I'm in the city. Located near the 1/9 train.
