I have not yet had the opportunity to dine in the main dining room, though I must say that I cannot wait as I hear from just about everyone I know that the service is impeccable.
Instead, I will settle for a review of dining in the bar. I had one of the best cuts of beef I have ever eaten in my life last Saturday night (and I eat steak at least 3 times a month). Not only was the filet juicy and tender, it had the most delicious potato puree on the side. My other half was only a bit peckish, so chose the vegetable sandwich -- a large meal in itself! Roasted veggies with strong cheese on a delicious, but messy foccacia-like bread.
The dark chocolate pot-de-creme was a disappointing end to the meal (just pudding, but with delightful creme fraiche), but the Ethiopian coffee was not...the large pot was just what I wanted after such a satisfying meal.
No wait at 7:30p on a Saturday night in the summer...something to love about Hamptons season in New York.
