Sephora carries many product lines (and even more online) ranging from inexpensive to "not-on-this-paycheck."
The salespeople range from uber-friendly and informative, to grumpy and churlish.
If you don't want to buy, but still want to try, ask for a sample. Sephora will give you a free sample of ANY PRODUCT in their store--great for the allergy-beleaguered. I especially like not paying over $50 for a bottle of Chanel No. 5. I just get the sample.
