Old House Cafe - Elegant, fine dining in a grand atmosphere 3/5/2006

The Old House Cafe, located in the same renovated mansion as the Old House Mercantile, is a gracious, elegant place. Paneled walls, a fireplace, muted graceful lighting fixtures, all contribute to the feeling of an Edwardian-era tea parlor. The colors, the textures, all are tasteful and exquisite. The food is excellent, and there is a wine menu. The dessert selection is varied and tempting. My uncle, visiting from Chicago, was quite the restaurant connoisseur. In fact, you might say he was a 'restaurant snob.' He asked me to suggest a place where we might eat, and I suggested Old House. Afterwards, he said that I had excellent taste and that the place had exceeded his expectations. High praise from him! :-) more
