My husband and I just LOVE Portillos. I am the one who introduced him to the place back in 1997, when he came to visit me in Chicago. I used to go there for lunch at least once per week and was bragging about how good their burgers and fries were. One night on the way back from the movies, he decided to give it a try. He could not believe how good the food was.
It is a bit more expensive than the average fast food joint, but it its well worth the price. The hamburgers are made to order and come with whatever toppings you want. The french fries are crinkle cut and taste really good!
We moved away from Chicago in 2000, but go back at least once a year and Portillos is the very first place that we go after we leave the airport.
I have told several people from Ohio about Portillos and now have 3 of them HOOKED!!! I wish that they would build one in Ohio... I would go all of the time!!!
