I always had a THING about cleanliness as a child. Did I have OCD or something back then? I don't know, but I sure do now and I think my crappy experiences at bad hotels my parents would book on trips may have heightened my...uh...thing.
We stayed at the Excalibur during a family reunion about five years ago, after being on immune suppressive medication for a year. YUCK was it nasty! Well, to me all of Las Vegas is kinda nasty. The hotel's lobby is taaaaacky, crowded and smelled of cheap cigars. It was so bad that my lungs and eyes were burning from the smoke--and a hotel's lobby is supposed to be its show piece!
As you can imagine, it did not get better when we went up to the room. The carpet was crusty and God knows what kinds of stains were hidden in its dark colouring. The beds were nasty--again, dark bedding. I was in utter agony the entire reunion. Gives me the heebies just thinking about it now.
