Tsuruhashi in Fountain Valley 5/27/2007

My wife found this restaurant online in fear of not able to get a table in a popular Japanese Yakitori House, Anjin. (For those who does not know what Japanese Yakitori is, Japanese Yakitori is Japanese BBQ. Thin Slice Meat grilled on an iron skillet with Charcoal.) When we arrived Anjin, we were told to wait for an hour and half, so we decided to try this new place. There is also a line and we had to wait for an hour, however since the wait time is less, we decided to eat at Tsuruhashi. This restaurant was as advertised by the people on the internet. The food are larger (comparing to Anjin) in portion and the waitress were good looking. (Service was good too :)) My wife and I ordered the beef tongue, the short ribs, and the pork cheeks. Overall the food are great and since we did not order any Kobe Beef (since they were out) and no Beer, it took less than $20 per person to fill us up. It was hard for my wife and I to compare this restaurant with Anjin since we haven't been in Anjin for awhile. However, based on our experience, I highly recommended this place to everyone. more
