Office Depot's deals usually come in the form of rebates. Since a large portion of buyers do not redeem these rebates, the company is able to generate the sale without sacrificing much. Also, the funds that the company receives can be used or "borrowed" by the company for a couple of months until the rebate check is fulfilled. My main problem with Office Depot is the service. Two of my most recent web orders went unfulfilled. Employees did not pull the items off the shelf and reserve the items for me until pick up. This could be a system error, but either way, it is irritating to arrive at the store only to leave empty handed.
