I've never been treated as badly as I was in this coffeehouse a few Friday nights ago.
I had 20 minutes to get my friend and I beverages to take on the bus on a very, very, cold night.
I ordered a hot chocolate and a hot tea. Two people were working behind the counter. There were several people in the coffeehouse, most appeared to have their beverages and working studiously on their laptops.
After ordering, the wait staff spoke in an Asian language (I was the only non-Asian in the restaurant). I was then told told that it would take over an hour for my tea and hot chocolate. I asked if the the hot chocolate was made from powder and I was told "Yes" so I asked for the powder, hot water, and tea bags so I could catch my bus. The staff spoke to each other again in their native tongue, other people in the restaurant chimed using the same language and began to get up. I felt threatened by their looks and actions. I finally opened up my phone as if to call the police, asked for my money back and identified myself as a member of the press (which I am) and that I intended to publish or air my story. At that point they refunded my money and I left.
I will never return to this establishment again.
