There is no denying that Our Lady of Victory [OLV to locals] is as beautiful Catholic church, celebrating its centennial in 2005. The stained glass is gorgeous and the woodwork in both the main church and the basement chapel is lovely, with beautiful statues and a remarkable marble baptismal font. The outside front steps are nice and pretty for wedding photos, and there is a small grove attached with a statue of Mary. Overall, it is a gorgeous church. As far as congregation goes, OLV hosts the familes of two Chicago alderman and many of the area's wealthier residents, which leaves some of the wholesome community feeling in the dust. Generally, if you are looking for a one-time event - baptism, wedding, etc - OLV is a prime location, but if you are looking to join a congregation? Keep looking.
