A SCAM restaurant by submitting higher amount than your credit slip total 12/22/2005

This Thai restaurant is located on 14th St close to P St intersection above Logan Circle. It's happened twice that this SCAM restaurant submitted higher amount of charges than what I put down on the credit card slips. They sneaked $1 or less on their submitted charges so that people don't notice. The first time they charged extra $1 and I thought it's a mistake, so I let it slide thinking I might have tipped less than 15% of total (excluding tax). But when it happened again last month, I called my credit card bank , faxed back the receipt and disputed the additional amount I was charged for 61c. I'm sure they've done this to people plenty times. It's a credit fraud that a merchant forges any amount customers put down on the credit card slip. With very minimal or not so good service and the food is only OK, I don't think I'll tip anything more than 15%. Either waiters or restaurant owner/manager slipped additional small amounts on to guests' credit card slips when they submit the final charges to credit card banks. Check your credit card transactions if you ever eat at ANY restaurants. Dispute any additional amount they charge you even it's just 1c and let the bank charge back to those bastards! They get penalized when a credit card bank charges back. more
