This grocery store is amazing. Words can barely describe.... This is like a local version of the best parts of Whole Foods, without the preppy factor, and a produce section that is ten times better. The produce section is as large as most Trader Joe's stores are. The produce is very reasonably priced, and the selection is large and diverse. The thing I love about Berkeley Bowl is that even though they are in many ways a health food store, they also have your basic store requirements like saran wrap or candles or things like that. They also have a friendly, knowledgable staff and a large bulk goods aisle. Sushi, check. Pizza, check. Olive bar, check. Burritos, soup, deli, yes. Etc.
