My meal started off well with excellent salsa and chips. The guacamole was also good. Momocho offers six different guacamoles. I had the goat cheese. Other options include trout, garlic, crab, pineapple and traditional. The rellenos was also good. My entree was chicken chivichanga: two chicken filled tortillas, one covered in mole coloradito and the other covered in a green sauce. The mole was good and overall the dish was satisfactory. Dessert was Mexican chocolate creme brullee. It was chocolate and it was creme brullee so it was good but it wasn't as good as it should have been.
This was my second visit and it was a marked improvement over my first. The first meal included a trio of guacamole, trout and chocolate cake. It was disappointing from beginning to end.
There are may fine ethnic restaurants in the area but this is one of very few that offers novel interpretations and refreshes its menu on a regular basis. This is a formula that I'd love to see other restaurateurs copy.
