Quick version: So glad Jon decided to take the plunge again and open his newest salon here in Tucson! Went for a cut tonight for the first time and so happy with it!
Longer version: :)
It's hard to find a good balance between getting a good cut and not spending a fortune -- I can't justify $50+ for a cut on a regular basis. It seems especially difficult in Tucson. I can find any number of sub $20 cut places (the few I've gone to have been adequate, but I always feel rushed and never "happy" with the cut -- just ok with it). And I can find any number of pricier places that start at $50 -- and, as I said, I can't justify that (the few I've tried with a "deal" have been fine, but not so great that I'm happy and willing to spend that kind of money again).
I did some searching online and found Hair Architects and made an appointment.
Jon took his time with the cut, kept going back over sections and checking length and blending. Worked with my hair and gave me a much better cut than I'd anticipated. I'd rave a bit more, but I'll reserve that till I have a few days of rushing out the door in the morning to work and seeing how that goes (though, I got the cut tonight and have already showered and it still looks as great as it did when I walked out the door). So far, it's the best cut I've had in ages (probably decades).
The bonus was that the charge for the cut was on the low-end (despite taking 45+ minutes to do) and with the first time customer deal I found online, it was a steal. But it also means that follow-up/maintenance cuts won't cost a fortune and making an appointment for another cut won't require any thought -- it'll just be something I do when I see the length getting to be a bit too much.
