That said.. Ikea seems to be the best value/fit for those starting out in a new apartment/house/or dorm.
They offer truly unique options that look nice aesthetically but the downfall is they items are pretty disposable. They just don't last and are easily broken.
The worst gamble is that there has been more than one time that I have bought something and ended up discovering I was missing pieces or messed up the assembly badly.
The one item I'm intrigued myself about are their kitchen makeovers. They do look pretty amazing and I have heard that they are incredibly affordable. I would like to know if anyone has had regrets going that route... (?)
