We stop in this shop whenever in the city and always end up picking up some sort of kitchen utensil, set of chopsticks, box of tea, or other treat. This year we did a little Christmas shopping and found some great deals for the cooks in our family. If you're easily intimidated, try going downstairs first, away from the street crowds. The checkout line down there is often much shorter, as well. Steer clear of the overpriced boxed sets and venture further into the back where you can pick up the individual pieces for less.
Oh and if you plan to buy in bulk (let's say, a place setting for six) ask for a discount. On our last visit the nice tourists ahead of us did and received 10% off the already low prices.
