My brother took my car here to get my brakes done for me . Everything was fine until a month later when I went to get my yearly inspection at my regular mechanic. I needed two of my tires replaced so I told them to go ahead and change them. I got a call back in 10 minutes from my mechanic explaining that they couldn't get the lug nuts off of the tires. He further explained to me that it had looked like they had been over torqued with a gun. He said he had noticed that I had new brakes, and asked if that was that was the last work I had done to my car. I informed him that it was, and he told me that they probably should have put the lugs back on manually rather than with a gun given the size of my car/tires (Hyundai Accent). My mechanic very carefully removed the lugs but he had to cut one off and replace it which cost me $40. I was so angry with the shotty work that was done that I immediately called Meineke and politely asked to speak to a manager. The man on the phone identified himself as Bill and asked what he could help me with. I explained what just took place with my mechanic, while being interrupted the entire time with his excuses. He kept trying to make me out to be a liar and even started to cuss at me. He swore up and down that his mechanics would never make such a mistake, and acted as though they were perfect. No apology, no offer to make this up to me, nothing! I wasn't looking to get anything free out of this, just maybe to be reimbursed for the money their ignorance caused me. To make matters worse, after he started to cuss, I asked for his full name and he refused to give it to me. I told him that I would find it out and report him to the owner and he hung up. He continually hung up on me every time I called. Well guess what folks? ...he is the owner. How do I know? Well, see there is this little thing called Google and all I had to type in was "bill virginia beach meineke holland" and the first result has the shop info and the owners name....william brasher. So much for his attempts at secrecy.
