Chefs for Hire catered our son's garden wedding at our home; a sit down dinner. The food that the bride and groom taste-tested was delicious. Crisp salad with Italian dressing. Chicken Picata served with a caper sauce, moist & delicious; Potato Crusted Scrod, crispy & flavorful; Wild Rice, perfectly cooked; Honey Ginger Carrots, cut on the bias in a delicate sauce.
The food we were served was NOT DELICIOUS & was NOT REPRESENTATIVE of the samples we tasted. Salad tasting old with watered down dressing. Chicken, dry with little sauce (no capers), Scrod wrapped in thin slices of soft white potato (no one was sure what it was); overcooked rice; baby carrots in a thick, heavy sauce. All the food was bland and no salt and pepper was provided. The wedding cake was poorly decorated and did not look like the photograph the bride provided. It was brought to our attention several weeks after the wedding that many of our guests left food on their plates.
We have asked Chefs for Hire for an explanation. We have still not heard from them after waiting almost three weeks. Anyone thinking of using this caterer should proceed with caution.
