Down by Lake Kittamaquandi, there is a nice selection of restaurants that have a great view of the lake with delicious, and locally owned restaurants.
A personal favorite of me and my family is Sushi Sono. The chefs are all Japanese, including the ones that run the actual sushi bar. The restaurant is pretty quiet and well-lit. My personal favorite dish there is the pork cutlet called Tonkatsu with its special sauce. The meal includes a salad and soup, which I find particularly good. My parents enjoy the sushi boats as they can select whatever sushi they want for a fairly moderate price (often $40+), but are worth every penny!
The only possible downside is the waitresses aren't Japanese (they're Korean), but really, it doesn't matter since the food is still authentic, and the atmosphere is great.
And don't forget, this restaurant has a great view of Lake Kittamaquandi.
