Sal's towing put a lien on my registration and my son's registration for a towing of my son's car in 2006 (I was co-signer because he was 17 at the time). We never heard anything from Sal's about this until 2009 when a collection agency representing Sal's called my son about it. They agreed on a settlement and my son made the payments. I went to re-register my car and there was a STOP on the renewal stemming from this tow. When I called Sal's I was informed that they had to fire the collection agency because they were not turning over any money to them and that we STILL owed them money and refused to take off the leins. This has been going on for 2 years now and I am forced to hire a lawyer to investigate this matter and deal with my now expired tag!
