I'm a new mom, and I don't get a lot of "me" time. For Christmas, my husband gave me a gift certificate for a deep tissue massage at Essential Therapy. It was exactly what I needed. When I arrived, I was given a comfy robe and slippers to change into, plus a cup of hot herbal tea. I took my tea into the Tranquility Room, a dim, quiet space with low couches and a large aquarium. The peace and quiet made me forget my stressful morning and relax.
The masseuse came and escorted me to a private room, then left me to arrange myself on the massage table with a large towel she provided. For a full hour, she massaged all of the body areas I'd indicated on the check-off list (you can tell the masseuse to avoid any areas you're not comfortable with). Apart from some relaxing instrumental music, my massage was conducted in blissful silence.
