Blue Marsh is a great place that is nearby for hiking. They have pretty nice trails and some streams from Blue Marsh Lake run along them too. You can bring dogs, if they are leashed, so it gives your pet a good workout as well! You can also go boating, swimming in certain areas, etc. at Blue Marsh, although sometimes certain areas are not always the cleanest looking. It's also a great area to see wildlife.
