Well, not really. But this store certainly is difficult to spot. Hidden away on Wallace St, the Book Pit is, more or less, a smallish hole in the wall, noted only by a sign of a painted on bat (why a bat? who knows!). However, inside one can find a miniature version of the Strand book store. Musty, old, and forgotten books line each wall, with piles appearing around most corners. These orphaned books are reasonably priced, and it's always fun to dig around for little bound treasures. It's located along paths less trodden, but those are usually the most interesting ones, and this isn't an exception.
