I have two experiences with this company that have lead me to giving one star. Let me first clarify one thing: this isn't a retail store, per se. They sell paint and the like, but it is more of a business seller, so to speak.
They do not have aisles and aisles of paint. However, the public can come in and order items.
First story: when we bought our house, we obviously needed loads of paint. My husband works right next door to this place, and mentioned that he can use his company's PO system to buy the paint at a discount AND tax exempt.
I thought, "Hot dog, we can save some money". My husband trotted over one day and explained to the people we needed over 10 gallons of paint. Different colors, different textures, but needed nonetheless.
We were quoted $27/gallon.
Excuse me? What kind of a discount is that? $0.50? Maybe a buck? AND they were picky about tinting it.
I spent $24 on American Tradition paint from Lowe's. I am happy with that stuff.
Next instance involved the need to get spraypaint off of my husband's truck. It was tagged by some idiot. At the advice of my Uncle, we went in to buy enamel reducer. My Uncle had advised us it wouldn't damage the paint, but it might ruin the wax. That was easily fixed... we already had Turtle Wax at the house.
They refused to sell it to my husband, saying it would ruin the paint on his truck, and they didn't want to be responsible.
Hello? It is HIS truck, and HIS decision. If they are that worried, sign a disclaimer.
Do they not sell neon colors to someone because they don't want to be responsible when their house is ugly and gets egged? What about the homeowner that wants to use interior enamel on his exterior porch? Isn't that a faux pas that could result in something being ruined?
Now, maybe since this isn't a full retail location, the people are more, er... unhelpful, than a full-fledged store. If you want paint, go either to a full Sherwin Williams, or Home Depot or the like.
You will be second guessed here.
