Banana Island serves up Malaysian and Singaporean food in Daly City. I think they do an okay job of it, though their food really is nothing compared to the real thing. Of course!
The best thing on the menu is the roti prata, which you can see the chef flipping on the griddle and is light and tasty. Nice curry dipping sauce as well. I also like their ladyfingers (okra) with belachan (shrimp paste) when it's being served. Twice I've been when they were out of this. I thought their beef redang was greasy and wasn't impressed by the fried rice or coconut shrimp or other stirfry dishes.
The decor is has a slight southeast asian theme and the waitstaff wears Singapore Airlines uniforms.
