When we relocated to San Diego, I found myself without a trusted professional to chop my locks. It just happened that our neighborhood of South Park had a dusty retail store that was being revamped. Curious, I poked my head in one day and asked what was going in. They told me it was going to be a hair salon. The inside looked pretty hip and I liked the name, so I waited for them to open so I could make an appointment.
I saw Amy during their first week of business. I told her what I was looking for, a low-maintenance style, and explained all the weird quirks of my hair and asked for her advice. She made some recommendations and started snipping away. Of course it looked great when she was done, but the real test would be when I washed it and had to "style" it on my own (that is, let it air-dry and hope that it looked decent). I was really surprised when it looked great left to its own devices -- it is rare that I can find a stylist who is capable of this.
My boyfriend gets his hair cut with Michele and reports good things about her too. This salon rocks -- they are friendly, their prices are just right, and they certainly know a thing or two about hair. Much recommended!
