Musashi’s basically got me through grad school. I love sushi, but it can be really expensive. What to do? Well, luckily, we in Seattle all have Musashi’s. The menu isn’t enormously elaborate but it’s got all the basics. It’s not the absolute best or most creative sushi I have ever had, but you can easily get two people their sushi fix for dinner for $20 (including the tip!). The sushi here is very good however, don’t get me wrong. The cheapest way to go and still be happy is to get a few pieces of sashimi and then mostly order rolls. The spicy tuna is great. My favorite is unagi and avocado (not on the menu, but you can concoct your own rolls). I also really love Musashi’s California roll. It is so good! I’ve never had a better California roll!
Don’t bring non-sushi eaters here as the menu doesn’t have that much else on it. Also, you can only pay by check or cash – no credit cards. Finally, the restaurant is very small, maybe seats 20 or so? But, you can order ahead for pick up. This is usually a good plan as the wait can be 30 minutes long and you definitely aren’t going there for the décor or ambiance.
