A Beautiful Brazilian Bistro...in North Denver 8/19/2005

Enter this quaint restaurant where the sounds of samba play in the background, the cachaça and wine flow easily and the flavors delight the palate and you might think you have taken a one-way ticket to Brazil. The caipirinhas, a Brazilian national drink, are a great way to start your meal. Continue with an appetizer of Lula Frita (calamari), or for those with smaller appetites, dive right into the pratos principais (the main dishes). Café Brazil knows how to cook its fish and seafood, developing delicious and beautifully presented creations. Try La caleña, a selection of large prawns and scallops served in a sweet spicy chile sauce over a bed of rice and surrounded by a fresh, crisp assortment of vegetables. Or, if you prefer creamier flavors, try Seafood Copacabana, featuring the same delicious prawns and scallops, rice and veggies but with a coconut milk, cheese and cilantro sauce. Café Brazil also features other national dishes like the well known Feijoada (black bean stews) and cazuelas (stews) with chicken, dende oil and other seafood delicacies. The restaurant also features a good (and relatively reasonable) list of Argentine, Chilean, Spanish and Portuguese wines. Saúde to this delicious restaurant serving the best Latin food in Denver. more
