In the summer, one of the best places to go to the beach in Rhode Island is Newport’s 2nd Beach. Approximately 45 minutes from Providence, 2nd Beach is a vacation destination for many travelers. Besides waterfront dining and quaint shops, 2nd beach has restroom facilities and lifeguards. Although the cost of parking can be a bit expensive ($20/car) the waves and warm water makes it worthwhile.
