Joey's took over the Cucina Cucina on Lake Union and turned the brightly-colored interior into a modern, monochrome dining room and bar. The outside patio is still there and the best place to sit on a nice day.
The food is good, but not great. The drinks are pretty standard. The reason to go is the wait staff that seems to have come straight out of your dreams. On a sweltering Sunday afternoon in August every waiter but one was actually a waitress, dressed in skimpy black clothing, and well aware of the reaction they were causing in Joey's patrons.
Although our table was served by the lone male waiter he did his best to have our food and drinks delivered by women and even apologized to us for being a guy.
Calling Joey's an up-scale Hooters isn't far from the truth, but I didn't leave with that cheap, dirty feeling that comes with Hooters.
