Finn McCool’s is a smoky “Irish pub” on University Way in the U-district. The staff is friendly and grub is good for bar food. A hummus plate appetizer came with soft, warm pita and veggies; the fish & chips are lightly fried and flavorful, with a tasty dill-y tarter sauce. Happy hour has great deals—the $3.75 fish and chips were more than enough to fill me up (despite the friendly warning of my waitress) with two big pieces of fish and a huge bowl of fries. Watch the foot traffic on University Way from the deck seating during spring and summer.
