Worse hospital I've ever been to in my life. I will never go there again, even if I'm dying.
They did an Angioplasty on me, told me I had a heart attack and needed open heart surgery. I was in complete shock hearing both of these. They said a group of doctors would come to my room to discuss it with me later that day, but they never did. The next morning they said doctors would come to talk to me, but never did.
I was left there for 2 days, not knowing if I was going to die or live or what had to be done, what my chance were or anything.
They never let me get more then 1 hour of sleep. Way too many students wake you up for nothing. The food it really bad, no matter what it is, it all taste like cardboard. You have to prepay for you phone and TV. The alarm on my IV would continually go off and the nurses would ignore it.
I Told them I didn't want nicotine patches on me, but they still put them on me against my wishes. The room was soo small, that in order to get equipment past my bed to the other guy every few hours, I was woken up and made to sit up and sit the bed up so they could fit past the bottom of the bed. Also their billing department called me on the phone there, and then even came to my room and spoke nasty to me cause I didn't have health insurance. The guy next to me, had to stay longer, cause they punctured his lungs while installing a pace maker. When I get out of the bed and started to leave, they even called 2 uniform security guys on me, a heart patient that had a heart attack and can barely move.
Then I walked out of there, they didn't even offer to call me transportation to a different hospital. Thank god I got out of there, and I'm still alive. Three months later, I went back to try and complain, but no-one would actually see me about the problems. If your having chest pains, go to Rochester General.
I have met many people the had heart surgery at RGH, but none that had heart surgery at Strong. Strong must have a less percent of heart surgery patients that survive, if any do.
