Spats is a neat treat in the heart of downtown State College, PA. Definitely a step above the typical undergrad crowd, you will enjoy a well prepared meal of cajun cuisine. It's hard to go wrong when picking an entree (though my husband is particularly found of the Cajun pasta...which sounds bland but is DELICIOUS). They have an extensive wine list and are knowledgable in pairing wine with food.
They also serve sorbet between courses -- these little extras add to the overall experience.
Downstairs you can get some of the same food, but not the atmosphere. This is definitely a place to take the parents when they are in town for a visit.
