The Birmingham Museum of Art is a noteworthy museum for a city size of Birmingham. The art has several perminant exhibits including Asian art, African art, and a large collection of Wedgewood china. There are usually several rotating or touring art exhibits during the year. I do wish there was a larger collection of Southern art. The museum also started hosting an event called Art on the Rocks. The event is monthly during the summer months and brings national singer-songwriters to play at the museum. The event has free catered food that is suprisingly very good and a cash bar. Beware though, when it rains, the artists play inside the museum instead of outside, and the acoustics are horrible inside the museum.
