As many publications as there seem to be in Nashville, there's only one that seems reliable to find anything to do with kids- Nashville Parent. There's a complete calendar of events for the next month or so in every issue, which is very handy. I almost always find out about at least one useful service or website, as well. Lots of advice, particularly for parents of young ones.
