This is a really nice park. It's right on south beach. You can take a nice stroll or roller blade on the paths or have a nice sit down under a shady tree or on one of the many benches around the park.
There's a playground for the kiddies that consists of a climbing structure with slides that is set on top of safety foam. There's also a swingset with swings for infants and handicapped that is set over sand. Thee's not a lot of shade, so it's best to go early in the morning, later in the afternoon or on overcast days. We like to go in the winter when it's "cooler" out so we can stay a little longer.
There's usually a good breeze that comes from the beach so it's just a beautiful park to go to. There's plenty of restaurants, snack bars and ice cream shops that you can grab a meal or snack from and have a little picnic.
