when my wife was out of town, i arranged a guys' nite out; but only one of my friends accepted the invitation. he suggested that we meet at giovanni's for pizza. i was surprised to find this pizza joint in a strip mall otherwise filled only with asian businesses. i accepted my friend's recommendation that we share an order of spaghetti and meatballs as well as a small pizza. we chose the rustica, a delightfully light, chicken with fresh tomatoes pizza. well, this hole in the wall doesn't really _look_ like much, but the food's great. it's not too fancy, but its simplicity let natural flavours shine through. the spaghetti sauce is pleasantly sweet. the meatballs have a spam-like texture... in a _good_ way. the pizza is on thin crust with just enough cheese, not too much. i'd like to return someday.
oh, btw, for good _thck_ crust, chicago style pizza, stick with pizz'a chicago off of el camino real in santa clara.
