Lots of knick-knacks and souvenirs...for a price 8/8/2005

Hoy's sells all kinds of different things from local souvenirs (t-shirts, postcards), to toys, candy, cookware, greeting cards, etc. It's designed to be a one-stop shop for just about everything but groceries while you visit the NJ Shore. In this respect, it does a pretty good job. You do pay for this convenience though as virtually every item is price 10-20% (or more) above retail. The store's aisles are fairly narrow which creates a problem when the store is crowded. The staff seems competent but usually unwilling to attend to customer requests. Hoy's scores high marks for selection and convenience but charges a premium for their goods. more
