The beach has been closed at this park for quite awhile this summer due to bacteria in Lake St. Clair. This park does offer a lot more to do than just the beach though. There is big boardwalk for walking or rollerblading on which offers fantastic views of the lake and channel. There is also a nice playground for the kids and an Olympic sized swimming pool. You can also launch your boat here. There is also miniature golf for an extra charge. You can purchase a vehicle pass which is good at all the Metro Parks for the entire year.
