I'll say it up front...
My husband and I went to HaLong Bay three times in one week.
There, confession out of the way!
This restaurant is an undiscovered gem of a place. It's tucked into a new strip mall on Sancus Blvd, between Polaris and Lazelle. Walk in, and you're immediately greeted by a friendly staff member.
The tables, walls, and chairs are all simple. The walls are a vibrant red, and the decorations look home-made. The tables are black -- and there are booths as well. I could be wrong, but I believe that they DO NOT have their liquor license. I don't think that you can buy beer either...the food, by itself, is worth it.
I can't figure it out -- it's never crowded with more than 4 or 5 other tables. I did, however, see several "take-out" customers.
I've never been to Vietnam; in fact, this is probably the only Vietnamese restaurant at which that I've been to eat. It's good. And reasonably priced. My husband and I are stuffed, with leftovers for a later snack or meal, for under $25. Can't beat that!
The service is prompt and friendly, the food is tastey, and it's even downright inexpensive. You can choose between noodle dishes, spring rolls (yum!), soups, and all different types of meats and seafood.
Give it a try -- you WON'T be disappointed!
