I thought I was paying a lot before for hair cuts until I came to this Fantastic Sam's based on a recommendation. Didn't turn out so well. Price-wise that is. The haircut was fine. Got what I wanted, but not worth the price I paid.
I had long hair that went half way down my back and they said I would be charged more for long hair. I did notice there was a sign on there in small print at the bottom mentioning that, but it didn't say how much more! I paid more than I expected. $20+ just to cut my hair up to/at my shoulders with no styling, but a straight haircut. Basically, a cut and trim.
When I told the person who recommended it to me a while back, they said they styled and everything and I'm pretty sure they're hair was as long as mine and they only paid about $14-$16 or so. They did think it was strange I got charged extra though. Then they did mention that they stopped going since they had last recommended it, which was a long while back and I hadn't seen the person in a while.
Either way, I just didn't think it was right to be charged extra/more for longer hair since after going to several different salons, none of them do that so far!
I remember I went again for I don't know why. My hair wasn't that long, only past my shoulders about 2 inches or so and they considered that long. Maybe it's because I was with someone else and compared to their's mine was longer. After that, I never went again.
Strange thing is, someone else went and had about the same length as I just described, a bit past the shoulders, and they didn't get charged that much.
Oh, and I called one time, just to check the prices, and the only response I got was it varies and that for long hair it's extra. I asked what if I style it or do this, couldn't really give me an answer. Frustrating.
