Zen"GO" 1/26/2007

Nestled right next to the Chinatown Marketplace Gallery metro station, and with two Chinese characters translating to "front and back" you will find the multi-colored themed restaurant Zengo serving Pan Asian and Latin fusion cuisine. The concept sounds enticing and foreign and my best friend and I sought to find out whether this type of fusion cuisine was a "go" or "no go". We ordered several of the fusion sushi rolls containing tuna and yellowtail. The rice on the rolls had an interesting texture and taste and although I have had better fusion rolls, it wasn't bad. However, the wonton tacos and the empanadas were much tastier! The wonton tacos were made of bite sized pieces of tuna and guacamole tucked into a mini rice filled wonton-taco shell. The empanadas were made of shredded pork and topped with a mango chutney. Their fusion mojitos also sounded interesting and looked delightful as well. The trendy ambiance and nicely decorated space makes for a great place for friends or a dinner rendezvous before a night out on the town! On a whole, I would say it's a Zen"GO"! more
